ABOUT

The seasonal rhythms of life in Japan’s satoyama landscapes lie at the roots of Japanese culture. Passed down through generations, these traditional ways of living have helped care for and sustain the land.

Over time, many people have lost touch with these traditions, which are now preserved by only a small number of communities.

By sharing and experiencing these traditions with more people—in the spirit of MOYAI—we work to conserve and pass on the landscapes and grasslands of Aso and Kuju through tourism.
